What We Do in San Bernardino County

Our San Bernardino and Victorville offices provides a variety of programs to prepare young people for college, career and community life, and to support parents in developing the skills to build positive relationships with their children.

Funded through First 5 San Bernardino, the Nurturing Parenting/FAMILY program provides parents with tested and proven ways to enhance family communication while building self-awareness and an understanding of their children’s needs.

Family visiting centers focus on decreasing the time children spend in foster care by providing birth families with a parenting skills coach and a relaxed environment where they can have supervised visits with their children. Through the Cal-Learn program, Walden assists pregnant and parenting teens in graduating from high school and gaining the skills to parent their children. Walden also provides mental health services such as individual, group and family counseling to help children heal from past trauma and develop the skills to establish healthy relationships.

In addition, Walden’s Victorville office offers an Extended Care/Aftercare program to former foster youth living in the High Desert. Through the program, youth build family and community connections, complete their education, gain employment, find housing and learn to manage their medical, dental and emotional health needs.
