Walden Family Services Recognized by Human Rights Campaign Foundation for LGBTQ+ Inclusion Efforts
Walden is proud to announce that we have earned the All Children–All Families designation for the third consecutive year for adopting a framework that promotes cultural competency through self-assessment, comprehensive staff and leadership training, and policies and practices that affirm the equal rights of the LGBTQ community.
Walden is recognized in 2021 Change-Makers, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s third annual report highlighting 119 child welfare agencies across the country who have worked with the HRC Foundation’s All Children – All Families (ACAF) program to improve the services they provide to the LGBTQ+ community, including children in foster care—1 in 3 of whom are LGBTQ+—and prospective foster and adoptive parents.
“We are honored to be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation once again for our work with the LGBTQ+ community, in particular, our LGBTQ+ youth in the foster care system,” said Teresa Stivers, CEO of Walden Family Services. “All children deserve a loving family that respects their needs and rights, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.”
