Host a Drive or Event for Transitional Age Youth: Book clubs, churches, synagogues, scout troops, schools, and philanthropic organizations are some of our most valued community partners. Consider hosting a donation drive to collect items that directly support transitional age youth (TAY), think gift cards, hygiene products, household essentials, and care items that help young adults build stable, independent lives. Your group can also host an event, a community picnic, holiday celebration, or outing, giving TAY youth meaningful social experiences and connection. Walden will provide support staff, guidance, and marketing materials to help make your event a success. A Walden speaker is available upon request to share more about our mission to empower young adults aging out of the system.

Engage Your Team, Empower Young Adults: Employee engagement opportunities are available for companies of all sizes — and the impact is real. Your team can furnish and decorate a TAY youth's first apartment, build care packages for young adults transitioning to independence, co-host a financial literacy workshop via Zoom, or collaborate on other hands-on projects that build skills and community. Every event is fully customizable to fit your company's size, schedule, and interests. Corporate volunteerism with Walden is a powerful way to invest in the next generation while fostering team connection and purpose.

Volunteer at Walden Fundraisers in San Diego & Southern California: Walden Family Services hosts several signature fundraising events each year to support transitional age youth programs across San Diego and Southern California, and we need enthusiastic volunteers to make them happen. Whether you're collecting auction items, selling sponsorships, helping with décor, or working the event day-of, your contribution directly fuels life-changing programs for young adults on the path to independence.

Lend Your Expertise to Support TAY Youth: If you're a business leader, nonprofit professional, community philanthropist, or are looking for a deeper and more strategic way to give back, Walden Family Services invites you to bring your skills to the table. Serving on one of Walden's ad hoc committees is an opportunity to move beyond writing a check and instead help shape the programs, strategies, and community connections that create real, lasting change. Our committees bring together passionate, driven individuals from a wide range of professional backgrounds. Whatever your area of expertise, there is a meaningful role for you in helping Walden expand its reach, strengthen its programs, and deepen its impact on young adults who are working hard to build stable, independent lives.

One of the most powerful ways to support Walden Family Services is by hosting your own fundraiser, and it's easier than you think. Rally your network and turn your passion for youth empowerment into real, lasting change for transitional age youth (TAY) in San Diego, Los Angeles, Riverside, and beyond. Whether you organize a backyard gathering, a community dinner, a social media fundraising campaign, or a workplace giving initiative, every dollar raised goes directly toward programs that help young adults build the independence, confidence, and life skills they need to thrive. Your event doesn't have to be elaborate to be impactful — it just has to come from the heart.

San Diego, Los Angeles & Riverside: Food security is a foundational part of stability — and for transitional age youth (TAY) navigating the journey to independence, consistent access to basic essentials can make all the difference. That's where you come in. As a food pantry volunteer, you'll play a hands-on role in ensuring that TAY youth and the families we serve never have to worry about where their next meal is coming from or whether they'll have access to everyday hygiene necessities.

Walden's Signature Fundraising Event: If you're looking for a fun, festive, and deeply meaningful way to give back, look no further than Wine D'Vine, one of Walden Family Services' most beloved annual fundraising events in San Diego.
