Your Foster Fundraiser Helps Support Children With Fragile Needs

Meet Baby Maya

At just two months old, Baby Maya was removed from her birth family due to severe neglect. When she arrived at the hospital for care, she was also diagnosed with COVID-19.

Because of Maya’s diagnosis, her foster mother isolated in the hospital to learn how to care for her. Once stable, they went home together and continued to isolate for two more weeks. Walden’s nurse and Maya’s foster care social worker provided support via Zoom, ensuring she received the best care. Today, Maya is thriving in her foster home, growing stronger every day.

Meet Baby Ralphie

Meet Ralphie. He was born at 28 weeks instead of 40 weeks and was exposed to fentanyl, heroin and alcohol before he was born. Ralphie cannot drink out of a bottle because he has not learned how to swallow. Ralphie is tube fed and has a medical appointment or different types of treatments almost every day. Through fundraising, we’re able to take care of Ralphie’s needs and help him to thrive!

Meet 16-Year-Old Eddie

Eddie is 16-years-old and is bed-bound.  He needs total care, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. He has his own hospital bed and wheelchair and his own TV to watch cartoons, which he loves.

He has a teacher who comes out to do stimulating activities with him and a skills trainer and other therapists who work with him on movement and on making sounds. Eddie is making great strides every day because of donations and caring individuals who are dedicated to helping our local foster kids and youth.
