What is FFTA?

The Family Focused Treatment Association (FFTA) is a national organization that champions Treatment Family Care as an essential part of the child and family well-being system. Dating back to the 1980s, FFTA has played a foundational role in defining and promoting best practices in Treatment Foster Care, helping the field grow through education, advocacy, and innovation.

Today, FFTA continues to lead the way by advancing Treatment Family Care as a vital resource within the broader framework of behavioral health and child welfare services across North America. With nearly 500 member organizations from the United States and Canada, FFTA represents a powerful network of public and private agencies committed to putting children and families first.
