SAN ANTONIO, TX—As a leader in the field of promoting independent living for youth leaving foster care, Walden Family Services recently participated in the Daniel 31ST Annual National Independent Living Conference—Growing Pains 2018 in San Antonio, Texas.
Walden’s Chief Operations Officer Sue Evans, MA and Director of Quality Assurance Mary Frame, M.Ed. presented the workshop “Achieving Better Outcomes in Education and Employment for Young Adults”.
The trauma and adverse childhood experiences that young adults from foster care have lived through create unique issues that impact all areas of their lives. Evans and Frames’ workshop explored the issues that impact youths’ success and suggested ideas for agencies to assist young adults in overcoming barriers.
Daniel’s mission is to provide quality services for youth and families by helping professionals, clients, and their respective organizations establish and maintain effective Independent Living Programs. Daniel’s National Independent Living Conference, Growing Pains, is a must-attend event for youth service professionals, independent living professionals, and youth aged 15 and up.
